Barcelona have asked Gremio for €40 million for the transfer of Vitor Roque, according to the Brazilian club's president.
Roque, 17, has been in impressive form for Gremio this season, scoring five goals in 12 appearances.
The young forward has also been capped by Brazil at under-20 level.
Gremio president Alberto Guerra said that Barcelona have made an offer for Roque, but that the club are not willing to sell him for less than €40m.
"Barcelona have asked us €40m for Vitor Roque," Guerra said.
"We are not willing to sell him for less than that.
"He is a very talented player and we believe that he has a great future ahead of him."
Roque is under contract with Gremio until 2025.
It is unclear whether Barcelona will be willing to pay the asking price for the young forward.
The Catalan giants are currently in a financial crisis and are looking to sell players to raise funds.
If Barcelona do not sign Roque, it is likely that he will remain at Gremio for the time being.
