Richard Carapaz Wins Historic Tour de France Stage

First Ecuadorean Rider to Triumph

Richard Carapaz of EF Education-EasyPost has made history as the first rider from Ecuador to win a stage of the Tour de France. The 29-year-old claimed victory on stage 3, a 192.6-kilometer (119.7-mile) route from Vierzon to Superdévoluy.

Solo Victory in the Alps

Carapaz broke away from the peloton on the final climb of the Col de la Croix de Fer and held off his rivals to cross the finish line alone in Superdévoluy. He finished 15 seconds ahead of runner-up Simon Yates of Team BikeExchange-Jayco.

Carapaz's victory is also a historic moment for EF Education-EasyPost. It is the team's first stage win in the Tour de France since 2020.
